Hey guys! This is my first time posting here, and I just need a bit of help with something. I'm a first year design student and I just finished my first semester in college. The thing is, I'm finding it very hard to organize my art supplies around my room! I need some help on how I can store my art work and large pieces of paper (instead of under the bed lol). Anyone know where I can get paper stands or something of that sort? I'm also open to any advice concerning paint storage and other art supplies. I just need ideas! :)

Thank you in advance :).

do any of you have a flatscreen TV mounted on your wall? how does it look? where is it? I have 28" flatscreen and i'm currently redoing my room with a minimalist / adult like natural theme. my dad wants to mount the TV to give me dresser space. i just want to know if anyone else has done this first?

Welcome!

I am A.J., a seventeen-year-old student from New York.

My room is 10 x 12 feet, facing south (double windows) and west (single window). My faux-hardwood floor, crown moulding, and closet shelves/rods were all installed by yours truly.

All pictures taken with my hand-me-down Canon PowerShot SD600.

Hello, I apologise if this has been asked before but I did a little search back and couldn't find anything.

I don't have an awful lot of storage space in my bedroom, but I have a small-ish collection of plushies (about 15 of various sizes) from my childhood that I can't bare to get rid of. I'm assuming I can't be the only one, and wondered what you do with them? How and where do you display/store them without making the room look untidy or like a childs or detracting from the general design of the room?

I used to put them on my bed, but have had to stop as they took up too much space and I got tired of rearranging them every morning, plus it mde the bed look cluttered and untidy. And other than that I'm feeling very uninspired as to what to do with them.

Sorry if this seems like a silly thing to ask but I'm curious ^^

Hi again, everyone (: Love all the rooms lately!

I'm back asking for more advice. I searched through some tags but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.

I need a new lamp for my room, and since I have an Asian (mostly Japanese) theme going on, that's kinda what I want to find - even if it isn't authentic, anything Asian-inspired will probably do. I looked at IKEA and kinda like these box-y floor lamps.

If anyone can show or tell where to find some cool-looking, decent Asian-style lamps, that'd be great. I'm looking for one or a few of good size, brightness, etc, or maybe one with a warm, softer light to it. Anything is fine - I just need ideas.

Thanks!

Hello there! My name is Nicole and I'm 27. I am a substitute teacher/grad student. I am living with my mom while in school. Therefore, I am attempting to fit an adult's bedroom into a tiny room fit for an 8-year-old and have tried to make the most of my small space. I love flowers and bright colors - they lift my mood. I love interior decorating in general and am an organization/neat freak, so my bedroom is never messy. Ever. Enoy! :)

p.s. My dog Chloe insisted on being included in the photo shoot.

Bright colors ahead! )

This is just the beginning, and it will get better, but I figured you'd like to see the drama as it is now.

looking at everyone's rooms is so inspiring sometimes, i love it :)
i'd like to ask some advice on hooks. i need some kind of way to hang my bags/scarfs/hats and i'd like it to be creative. i found hooks that i would like to use, but i wanted black and they only came in white.

and then i was thinking i could get cool looking drawer knobs and glue them to heads of nails, and make hooks that way?

i'd love suggestions! :)

Hey guys! I have a question for those of you who hang Christmas lights in your bedrooms.

What did you use to hang them? Thumbtacks? Tape? I have a set of Yoda lights I wanna hang in my room, but I'm clueless as to how I should hang them. Any tips/advice is appreciated!

Thanks a bunch! =]

about 2 years ago i decided, hey lets redo my bedroom. but it has not worked out that way due to money.
i am looking to redo everything cheap and have had the same idea in mind for a long time.

my end goal was to have a dark red color on all of the walls with a somewhat antique and modern mix for the rest of the room.
i wanted all black or dark wood furniture or possibly a black cast iron bed and all of the fabric to be white. i already have various art that my friend is willing to make for me or has already made that matches this idea.

my thing is that my parents think that these colors are wayyyy too dark or completely horrible. i really have no problem with this since if i had my way, i would have as little natural light as possible. i really like things to be dark. i have 2 windows in my room though and when i painted the room, the color came out completely wrong and is now more of a bright red, which i hate. i was thinking more of a deep red or a reddish/purple.

i have no idea if this color is too dark or how to pull it off and i cant find a room that looks similar to what i want online so i can show my family that the idea in my head wont come out horrible.

is this too dark or does anyone have anything visual that is close to what i want?

I've lived in this apartment for almost seven years now and I have never figured out what to do with my room. The room is a generally odd shape and there's a back door in it. I also have to have space for the cat litter box, food and ect. Right now it's painted this horrible green and orange color scheme, I don't even know what I was thinking when I did it. And I don't have a bed. So I sleep on the floor.

My style is like French Cafe mixed with modern and not so modern east asian flair. None of my furniture matches really because it's hand me down. I also collect things like owls and have 45792843573 books so I need room for all of that.
